I think about half the kids are at-risk, while the other half are pretty
mainstream. Very multicultural. He's looking for a bright young (or even not
young) person to set up their Government (and possibly also English) AP program,
mainly teaching the courses but also a little admin work and mentoring. They'd
be very open to having
a film course as well. They want someone broad and bright, who likes kids, is
flexible, etc.
No need for teacher certification. If they got the right person applying they
actually would be willing to hire this fall, though the game plan is to wait
until next fall. Quddus's e-mail address is attached. Feel free to forward to
any bright, engaging young folks who'd like to teach in an interesting setting.
It also strikes me as a good second career for retiring or moving on faculty,
assuming they have a high energy level. They would want a two-year commitment.
